About Restoration
Fifteen years ago, before marriage asked her to give it up, Catherine Ashby was one of the most gifted restorers in New York. Now the townhouse she called home for two decades is being prepared for sale, and she climbs back onto the scaffold.
Restoration is a sliding-tile puzzle. Each room of the townhouse is a painted picture cut into pieces with one gap. Slide the pieces until the room looks the way it should. A small copy of the finished picture is always beside the board. Every new room has more pieces, and fewer moves and less time score more.
